Senator Grassley Letter To Cox Worth The Read

Looks like Specter and Grassley and Hatch aren't screwing around, and dislike being stonewalled by the SEC almost as much as we do.

We saw a few articles about the letter to Cox, but you gotta actually read the document.

Here it is.

Wow.

Pretty much says knock this sh$t off now. Unmistakable. They feel like they are being stonewalled. Which they clearly are.

Anyone wondering whether the SEC is out of control should read this letter.

No additional comment from me required.

This is the letter written earlier, August 2, 2006, by Senators Specter and Grassley.

Of particular note is the following:

"We have serious concern regarding whether the SEC/OIC is capable of conducting a re-investigation worthy of any public confidence."

The Senators need to follow through, otherwise the SEC has achived it's purpose. As the follow-up letter is missing Sen. Specter's signature, I wonder if this is not the case.

Outstanding letter from Senator Grassley. Absolutely no nonsense from the SEC will be brooked, including any from Cox himself. It seems to me unlikely that contact person appointed by Cox would have put Grassley off as he did without Cox's order, so this is going to get down to brass tacks pretty quickly now.

If Cox is squeaky clean, then he would welcome all the help he can get with these investigations and throw the rest of the gang of five and whomever else deserves it under the bus.

I doubt Specter has backed off.

It is easy to whom the SEC believes they report. I doubt that the Senators are very impressed with this attitude. I enjoyed learning all those laws that the Senators cited. We need a real criminal investation.. as somebody is attempting to protect the status quo. Then those responsible need to go to jail for their part in it. The misplaced loyalties need to be corrected and I can think of no better way than to undo the commissions on the FTD's for the last 20 years. That would be a start. Do we short the brokers now????

Still we have only one issue being discussed---the firing of Aguirre---and a turf war between Specter and Shelby. Interparty politics at its best I guess. Unless Specter can/will appoint a special independent prosecutior to fully examine the SEC and its dealings, it will be back to 'business as usual' and the coverups, lies, loopholes, etc. will just continue under Shelby's reign----never thoroughly brought to the public's attention.

We need the Real People in our government that uphold the true principles of our Democracy to come forward and put the crooks, liars, swindlers and thieves whether disguised as a senator, congressman, government official or lobbyist, in jail where they belong.

In the past when there were two government agencies in conflict of one another the press was stepping all over itself to get every rumor and whisper related to the event and then spin the hell out of it to make it bigger than what it was. Here we have one of the biggest exposes of modern times and you can't get a wino that sells papers in the middle of an intersection to report on it. The Senators that are pursuing this should go down in history as real servants of the public that took their job seriously and cared about the well being of their fellow Americans. The SEC should go down in flames with bright orange suits as the their permanent apparel.

Those SOB's have been stonewalling everyone for years. They had a nice little Club Wall Street going on for years. You take care of me and when you retire I will take care of you.

I like the fact that the Senator CC'd those on the SEC board and showed them the proper respect by putting "The Honorable" before their name. But saying "The Honorable Annette Nazareth"!!!!! PLEASE!!! :-))
