Vote Is Unanimous! Yahoo Sucks, But New Board Picks Up Slack

After some trial and error, it seems like we have a winner for the replacement for the Yahoo stock message boards.

www.Investorvillage.com appears to have a reasonably stable, responsive platform that most are accessing with no problems.

I would propose that anyone looking for an alternative to the virtually unusable Yahoo boards explore that site - NFI already has a very active board up, with most of the regulars now in attendance. There is no reason the other popular stocks, like OSTK and HANS and such, shouldn't be able to transition over, leaving 100% of the posts on Yahoo the work of paid bashers who apparently aren't compensated to post on other platforms.

That could change once their comp package is reviewed, but for now, there is a conspicuous absence of bashers working the IV forum.

Spread the word, folks - it's the people, not the platform, that makes for a community.

And for those easily amused by cartoons, I have commemorated Yahoo's equivalent to Custer's last stand - consider this my gift of laughter during a frustrating period.

EB, you did it again, made me laugh and almost pee my pants.....
I agree, Yahoo's new board process is "really bad", and IV is a great new board at this point. No bashers present as of this writing.

When I first came onto your site I could not figure out where to post this Dissertation, until I read Bobo's "Vote Is Unanimous! Yahoo Sucks, But New Board Picks Up Slack"

Haaaaaaaay … Did you hear that CNBC, Morning Call is going to give us an update, tomorrow (July 18) between 8:00am & 9:00am EST on Gary Aguirre! That should be interesting or should I say that’s going to be a joke. Yep, they just let the public know today what they are going to speak about tomorrow. Get your popcorn & drink ready and gather around the TV.

You’re probably wondering ????? … Who the hell is this guy?

Well, my pilot light has been out for about four (4) years. I didn’t commit suicide or die from a heart attack, but my light went out for quite sometime … See forum

EXCELLENTOMUNDO Bobo!.
BTW, if and when the basher gang appears-let us all make a point of not replying to any of their posts. Why tie up valuable bandwide. It ain't worth it and they probably won't get paid if there is no response. After all, one of their stated goals to to goad longs into participating in a meanless exchange of posts

Bob, is it possible to cover millions of shares of a stock in the open market without the price moving up? e.g. OSTK, NFI and BVF just to name a few. Because it does not look like these shorters are showing the fear that I think they should if a market cover is imminent!!! Thanks.
Re: Vote Is Unanimous! Yahoo Sucks, But New Board Picks Up Slack By bobo on 7/17/2006 5:17 PM
Sean: I never said I believe that a market cover is imminent. I have always said that I believe they will move the shares into ex-clearing, where they can drift in perpetuity. I don't think they have a single plan to cover - but I think once the data from the lawsuit discovery starts making it obvious who was responsible, you might see some covering - more than likely, even then, not. Just a large check to make it go away - any settlement would be peanuts compared to what would be lost if the data became public.

No, as long as the SEC pretends that ex-clearing contracts are outside of their purview, and the DTCC does as well, there's your exit.

That, and of course, kiting from colluding party one to colluding party two.

After over a year of reading the same rhetoric from the same ignorant, uncivil and slimy leftovers of humanity it is quite refreshing to have a dialogue with real people with common interest and a desire to help other people. NFI board was like a vacation in the islands with great people. I have received a lot of help in making my mind up on NFI. Thank you also Bob.

By far those were the funniest cartoons you've every had on here. And that's saying a lot, because many of the others have been hilarious.

There's an option on yahoo to change the view from threaded to chronological. Just click on Message Board Settings. All that I see changed after doing this is that instead of Recommendations we have Ratings which is an improvement. So what's the problem with yahoo besides the infestation of retarded bashers?
Re: Vote Is Unanimous! Yahoo Sucks, But New Board Picks Up Slack By system stalker on 7/20/2006 6:02 PM
Silicon Investor (SI ) is being invaded by yahooligan posters who are being transferred to SI by thier hedge fund proxies. The Message board has become a systemic committment by short funds, they use the boards as tactical organs of thier own systems ends, usually this means they are short and all information is disinformation when it does not originate from those who are permanatly assigned to a specific board. One guy will act like the bull, the other the bear, but together thier objective is to LIE cheat and steal your money.

The permananet residents of threads are all employees....or individual investors too stuborn to give in.......these are indeed the times that try Mens souls, the Socialist International has created many thousands of hedge funds to wage war on the shareholders.

How many of you really know that since 1996 the number of Listings of publicly traded companies has fallen by over 40%. The stock market and especially the best emerging companies are all under Short attack. Price Suppression for the purpose of Accumulation. Right now all effort is being waged against the backdrop of the War, to create sellers.Resist the fraud. Resist all that goes against your common sense.

The dumbing down of the Yahoo Finance message boards is one of the great tragedies of our time.

I don't understand. They say economic productivity keeps going up. I thought that meant that you could not afford to run a business like a bunch of incompetent idiots any more.

Apparently I was mistaken.

"All that I see changed after doing this is that instead of Recommendations we have Ratings which is an improvement. "

1). The chronological listings are now in a really ugly format

2). as far as I can tell, when you click on a post from the chronological listings, and then click "next", you aren't able to scroll continuously to each subsequent post. In fact, I'm not quite sure what the heck you get when you click next. Maybe the rest of the newer posts under the specific subtitle.

3). In my view, the rating system is crap. It is adding senseless complexity where none is called for. The recommend system was an excellent system. The only system I perhaps like better is the one on Provo Herald (www.provoherald.com) where each person has a cumulative merit/demerit tally that shows up on every post you make.

Yahoo sucks!
Fuck you, yahoo!
Assholes all, Yahoo.
Originally you offered free email and we knew what our cost was in limited ads and bullshit. Now you have outraged your constituents and are pure shit!
Your ads and popups and flash bullshit has made your address absolutely useless.
For your advertizers: I WILL NEVER USE ANY OF YOUR SERVICES OR PRODUCTS! I will use another, or go WITHOUT, you fuckers.
It is grossly inconventient to have to change email addresses, but better that than continue to deal with the aggravation you cause!
